Your Sixth Sense Is Not Nonsense
Your sixth sense is not nonsense. In fact, I believe it’s your best sense.
- You can’t make people tell the truth.
- You can’t believe everything you see.
- You can’t believe everything you hear. (see #1)
We are then left to decide for ourselves what is true and what is not. On a daily basis, we are bombarded with too much information. It is difficult to take everything in and know if what you are hearing/seeing is true or not. Here are a few tips to help you evaluate and sift through that information.
The best way to know if what you seeing or hearing is truth is to check in with your sixth sense.

- Write down the information you receive and soon you’ll have proof of your intuition.
Ask your angels and guides to help you develop your sixth sense. It’s so easy. Take time every day to consciously check in with your inner knowing. Soon it will be routine and something that doesn’t seem foreign. For many of us, intuition was not nurtured or developed. As a result, we are left to figure out on our own.
How do you check in with your sixth sense? Simply ask in your mind to know the truth and be open to how that will appear to you. Pay attention, intuition speaks in many ways. You may get your answer via a dream, a vision, a thought, a song, numbers, a feeling you may have.
What is Intuition?
We have all heard of Mother’s intuition where a mother knows that something is wrong with her child. She knows it but, has no logical way of knowing what she knows or feels. She just knows.
Then there is the gut feeling. That dull ache or that sick feeling that you shouldn’t do something. Ignoring that feeling will certainly result in some type of ill effect and you’ll be sorry.
Intuition is also called your sixth sense. An extension of your physical senses, the sixth sense is the bridge between the conscious and the subconscious mind. Like your physical senses, the sixth sense mimics those cues for clear messaging. Clairvoyance is seeing pictures in your mind. Clairaudience is clear hearing or thoughts that enter your mind. Clairsentience is clear sensing of feelings. Clairgustance is being able to taste without actually putting something in your mouth. Clairsalience is intuitive smelling and an empath is tuning into another’s emotions.
We all have intuition, but most of us are not taught to nurture or develop this valuable asset. We should all embrace our intuition as it is clearly the voice of the soul. It does not lie or try to flatter you in any way as the mind and ego often do.
Some of our society thinks that using your intuition is devil’s play and so for some, that stigma exists.
Intuition does not scream and shout. It’s more of a whisper. Its cues are subtle. Listen closely and more will follow. Pay no attention and risk losing this vital connection.

Not everybody is aware of their keen sense of guidance. We all have it. It being intuition. Some are more aware than others. Still, we all have it.
You’ve heard of those that are especially gifted in this area. Their abilities leave you scratching your head in wonder. How is it they are so connected?
Everybody is born with an internal GPS or intuition as I call it. It’s your guidance and your birth-right. For some, their intuition is a bad feeling or as some call it a “gut feeling.” Others have visions and still others just know. Our intuition speaks to us in many ways.
I opened to spirit energy as I grew older, but looking back I can see that I was always guided. I had a knack for sizing up people. I knew when I met my husband for the first time, that I had found my match. I’m not sure how I knew, I just knew. I never really thought about what that meant or labeled it as intuitive. I learned growing up that such things were not allowed in our home.
I had many signs that I was intuitive over the years, but never really put it all together until much later. You may have had signs as well. Here are a few of my favorites.
#1- I was drawn to the spirit world. Even though growing up I didn’t hear much or didn’t know of anyone who was intuitive, I found it all to be fascinating.
#2-I had a six sense about people. I was able to size people up pretty quickly. That has remained constant throughout my life. Even as a small child my parents picked that up and would ask me what I thought about a certain person or situation. They said I always go to the bottom of what was going on.
#3-Some things you just know. Don’t ask me to explain that or give you a play-by-play of what I know. I just know. It’s that simple.
#4-You think of someone and they call you or you run into them. This is another sign. This is really an everyday occurrence for some and very routine.
#5- Dreams, lots and lots of dreams is probably my favorite sign. This is the one sign that helped me put everything together. If you pay close enough attention to your dreams, you will learn to decipher its meaning. Your dreams are trying to tell you something. There is a message or lesson. Your guides may be trying to communicate with you. Write the dreams down and take time to learn their meaning.

I haven’t always known that I’m intuitive. It started with little things and I noticed those little things. I started writing them down. Pretty soon I couldn’t ignore those little things. As a result, more things occurred. Pay attention to your intuition, write it down, acknowledge it and trust what shows up. I assure you that as you pay attention to it and focus on it, it will grow.
Meditation is an excellent way to quiet your mind and in the quiet is when spirit likes to come in. I know for many, meditation can be intimidating. There have been many technological advancements in this area that have taken all the work and time out of meditating. You no longer need to meditate for hours and hours to get to higher planes of consciousness. It’s really quite remarkable. The health benefits are huge. If this is something you haven’t considered or have, but didn’t find it beneficial, I would take a second look.
The right side of the brain, our intuitive side, loves to be creative. In discovering that creative side, intuition can come through. There are all sorts of opportunities to amp up your creativity. Social media web sites are popping up with unprecedented creativity. People are coming together to share their projects and discover others. Being creative is not just playing music or having artistic ability. Being creative is a way of thinking; a way of viewing the world.
The intuitive or right brain also likes to play games. It wants to have fun and in doing so, spirit can come in. I personally have struggled with this over the years. I’ve never enjoyed playing games. I was more of a serious child. I also have a memory of playing games with my aunt. She was very hard core when it came to her games. I never won. Later in life, I started playing again and it’s good to enjoy a mindless game now and again. Take it from me. Don’t be so serious. Life is supposed to be enjoyable. Have fun!
Learning something new will also stimulate the right side of your brain. The right side is not logical or routine in nature. Switching up your routine by incorporating something new will really spark your intuition. Better yet, take a class or workshop to develop your intuition. In no time, you’ll be flexing that intuitive muscle.
